René Hecht (GER)

A former elite Volleyball player, Hecht holds the all-time record of caps with the German national team (385), was the first to captain the team after the country’s reunification and he received the award for Germany’s Volleyball Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991 as well. Moreover, he was a multiple winner of the national championship as well as of the national cup of the former German Democratic Republic. Back in 2011, Hecht received the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the German Volleyball Federation (DVV).
After spending many years at the helm of the Berlin Volleyball Federation, in June of 2018, Hecht became the DVV President. He joined the CEV Board of Administration for the first time in 2020 following the elections held in conjunction with the XLI CEV General Assembly.
