The General Director of Volley Vlaanderen, De Dobbeleer has a Master’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Leuven. After working as a coach for a number of years, especially with youth teams, De Dobbeleer joined one of Belgium’s elite Volleyball clubs, Lennik, as a sports manager, before moving to Volley Vlaanderen in 2010.
By working closely with a group of true Volleyball enthusiasts, De Dobbeleer and his organisation have managed to grow the number of members from 38,000 to 45,000 – which makes Volleyball the top sport in terms of participation in the Flanders, second only to soccer. De Dobbeleer has played a leading role in the successful organisation of many international events held in Belgium in recent years, including EuroVolley Women in 2015 and EuroVolley Men in 2019. He joined the CEV Board of Administration for the first time in 2020.
