Budapest, Hungary, October 17, 2018. The Hungarian Volleyball Federation (HVF) is taking the final steps as Budapest prepares to become the home of European Volleyball for three days. HVF Secretary General, Zsolt Ludvig is motivated about the event and he shared further details with the whole country as he was invited for an interview in the local TV station MTVA.

CEV representatives and the current biggest figures of Volleyball will come to Budapest which will be the capital of European Volleyball for three days. Why is the event being held in Budapest?

The invitation is already a great recognition of our work, what we did on the European and also on the world stage. Because of these reasons, we got the invitation to organise this high-level event. During his visit in January, CEV President Aleksandar Boričić drafted further plans as well which is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our sports diplomacy inside the sport. We are really happy that we can be the organisers of this huge event where we will host not just players, but also team leaders and CEV officials. We are proud that we can show them our beautiful city - Budapest.

The Gala and the CL Drawing of Lots will be taking place on November 2. What other activities are planned?

On the 1st of November, the unveiling of the EuroVolley 2019 logos will be held. As a co-organiser, we will be there at the reveal, as well as the other co-hosts of the Women's and Men's EuroVolley and we will see a special logo which will be in the public eye for almost a year. I think that this is also a great opportunity to draw attention to next year’s events. The DOL will be held at the Hilton Hotel and the evening will continue with the Gala at Várkert Bazár - those will be special events for us. We also hope that we can find a Hungarian team at the DOL.

As you mentioned, there are about two weeks left until the first event. We guess the Hungarian Federation will have busy weeks to prepare everything for the start.

Of course, the preparations have already started earlier. Now we have to coordinate the programmes to finalise everything. I think that we will be well-prepared and I hope that everyone will have a great time during the event. We would like to show some other beautiful places in Hungary, not just the main hall that will be hosting the 2019 Women’s EuroVolley.
